THE COMPANY STORY
Originally called Pandaw Cruises India Pvt Ltd, the company has been established in 2004 to promote river tourism in India.
After conducting extensive surveys in the Brahmaputra and Ganges river systems, the company entered into close collaboration with the Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) to develop, carry out and promote river tourism in India.
The Ganges and The Hoogly river system, India's National Waterway No. 1, was selected for the first river passenger cruise from Kolkata to Varanasi. Thereafter, the ship "Pandaw 4" was imported from Myanmar and collaboration started with the Department of Tourism, Government of India, Government of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and IWAI (Ministry of Shipping).
Year 2009, the maiden year for river cruising of our company was a most difficult, challenging and hands down, on the job learning experience for River Cruising on the Holy Mother Ganga. Braving all odds and challenges in the very first season beginning from the 28th September 2009 till 31st March 2010, our Company had operated all the 10 scheduled upstream and downstream departures successfully.
With each passing cruise, the services were further streamlined, with a very capable, determined, motivated and well trained staff, highly experienced and knowledgeable guides and crew, the cruise on the Ganges and the Hoogly rivers has been able to offer the travellers great value for money, unparalleled service, unhinged real life thought-provoking visual experience of India, it's people, their lifestyle, rich culture, magnificent history, brilliant architecture and diverse flora and fauna.
